Nick Lapis


Nick Lapis is CAW's Legislative Coordinator. He works on greenhouse gas strategies, as well as advocating for strong waste reduction and recycling policies at CalRecycle and the California Air Resources Board. He also does research and advocacy on legislation and regulatory action.

Before joining CAW, Nick completed his BS in Environmental Biology and Management (with a double minor in Environmental Policy and Political Science) at the University of California, Davis. As an undergraduate, he did legislative internships with Coalition for Clean Air and California State Parks. He has also worked on habitat restoration and environmental leadership through several positions at the Golden Gate National Parks.

When he is not at CAW, Nick can usually be found enjoying good food, good films, or good company.
