Drive overall strategy for and lead the coordination of the Campaign for Safe Cosmetics

  • Provide leadership to the Campaign’s steering committee and harmonize working group efforts focused on grassroots organizing; federal legislative advocacy; corporate targeting; and communications/ media advocacy.
  • Oversee the Campaign’s strategic development, with an emphasis on corporate targeting and engagement.
  • Act as media spokesperson and represent the Campaign at diverse events around the country.
  • Develop, coordinate and implement fundraising strategies.

Policy Associate, Pacific Forest Trust
San Francisco

The Policy Associate will provide support to PFT’s policy programs developing and implementing incentives for forest conservation and sustainable management.  The position’s primary focus is research, analysis and supporting policy development for private forestland conservation incentives in California and federal policy. A secondary focus is on state policy in the Pacific Northwest.

CCEJN Coordinator, Central California Environmental Justice Network
Fresno

Full-time, permanent position with the Central California Environmental Justice Network (CCEJN)
Location: Based in Fresno, with travel to Kern County
Application deadline: January 2, 2012. Position starts no later than the first week of February.

CCEJN & CPR are seeking an organized, self-motivated, confident, English/Spanish bilingual individual to coordinate our community reporting projects on the ground in Kern and Fresno counties, and carry out other capacity building and community work for CCEJN. The ideal candidate has knowledge of pesticide and other environmental pollution issues and has experience conducting trainings, working with community members, organizing and facilitating meetings and is comfortable interacting with officials from government agencies. With funding secured for the first year, the ideal candidate will have, or be willing to acquire, foundation fundraising experience and will be responsible for fundraising for the position for future years.

Salary range: $40-$50k, plus benefits and mileage reimbursement; actual salary rate based on experience.
