Project Associate - Sacramento
Valley Vision

Valley Vision is seeking to hire a highly motivated Project Associate who will be responsible for assisting the CEO and senior staff with completing complex community development projects.  They need a person who is highly organized and results-oriented, able to set and meet deadlines, and able to communicate clearly and effectively.  The entry-level position requires superior critical thinking and effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a creative and loosely structured work environment.   The salary range is $33-35k, based on qualifications.  To be considered, interested candidates should forward their resumes by 5 p.m. on Friday, February 19 to Dale Ainsworth.  Interviews will begin February 22, with a job start date of March 15, 2010.

Biological Science Technician - Carlsbad Caverns National Park

Native bee pollinators (approx. March-October each year) is starting at Carlsbad Caverns NP.  Looking for applicants with skills and interest in backcountry desert hiking, entomology, and desert plant identification. Incumbent will perfom a variety of technical field and office tasks in support of a native bee pollinators survey project throughout the park.  Field work will be conducted in the park primarily in remote areas. Legislative Assistant
Assist on legislation and budget activities for Legislative Director. Knowledge of the legislation/budget. Bill tracking, meeting coordination, client scheduling, lobbying and policy work. $3,000 - $4,000/month DOE.

Political Campaign Assistant for ballot measure campaign. Experience in political campaigns, environmental policy or legislation a plus. Energy, organization and enthusiasm, good written/oral communication skills required. $3,000 - $4,000/month DOE.

Outreach Director - Part time 6 months position
The Great Sunflower Project
Develop and implement communication and education programs such as pollinator biology for a nationwide citizen science and conservation program. The Outreach Director must be organized, self-motivated and detail–oriented, possess strong writing skills, and have a background in a communication, outreach or education-related field and a passion for conservation, gardening, botany or entomology. Initial scope of work is part-time, up to 15 hours per week at $12 per hour.

Funding is secured for six months with potential to extend. San Francisco Bay area base is preferred but negotiable.
