2007 Legislation: Pushing the Envelope on Waste Reduction

California is once again pushing the envelop on waste reduction and recycling policy. Last Friday's Legislative deadline saw the introduction or more than 30 key waste reduction and recycling bills, covering a spectrum of issues from restrictions on non-recyclable plastics, to e-waste and pharmaceutical producer responsibility proposals to Legislation to increase California's waste reduction and recycling mandate to 75%.

CAW has taken preliminary positions on most of these bills based on either the current language in the bill or our understanding of the intent of the author and/or sponsors.

As always, we're interested in your comments and perspectives.
