Apr 16 - Ukiah City Council Meets on Ban Ban This Wed
Later this week the Ukiah City Council will sit down to consider a plastic bag ban.
The meeting will be held at the Civic Center Council Chambers (300 Seminary Avenue, Ukiah, CA) on April 18, 2012 starting at 6 pm. The council will vote to certify the environmental report that studied the ordinance's potential impacts, followed by an introduction of the ordinance. See the full agenda on the website.
The bag ordinance proposes to ban plastic bags in all retail stores and require a ten cent charge per paper bag. Fort Bragg and unincorporated Mendocino County are moving forward with similar ordinances.
