Feb 11 - San Mateo County Taking First Steps to Go PS-Free

Officials in San Mateo County are taking the first steps towards creating a polystyrene-free county by considering a Styrofoam ban in county facilities. At least one potentially-affected food service owner told Tamara Barak Aparton of the San Francisco Examiner that she would welcome the ban:

"Roina Morales, who manages the VRS Café inside the San Mateo County courthouse, said she would welcome the ban. The cafe uses Styrofoam only to serve its soup, she said. 'It wouldn’t be difficult to implement and it’s better for the environment,' she said."
