Australia has become the latest government to announce plans to move towards energy-efficient lighting to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions Under the proposed legislation, all light bulbs that don't comply with specific energy efficiency goals would be gradually phased out of sale. The Australian government on Tuesday announced plans to phase out incandescent light bulbs and replace them with more energy-efficient compact fluorescent bulbs across the country.
