The world is discussing the future of plastics today.

The United Nations Conference on Sustainable Development (also referred to as the Rio+20 Earth Summit) is in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil this week.

An all day international forum focused on the future of plastics , titled simply "Plasticity" will be held today in conjunction with the summit.

Environmental groups are asking Rio delegates for more policies to reduce plastic oceanic pollution, which a recent study showed increased one hundred times in the last 40 years.
