Oregon Gov. Ted Kulongoski signed the state's e-waste recycling bill on Thursday morning. House Bill 2626 will require electronics manufacturers to create or pay for e-waste recycling centers for covered electronic devices, which will be free of charge to residents. Covered electronic devices include desktop computers, laptops, monitors and televisions with screens larger than four inches diagonally. The Governor also signed an update to the state's bottle bill, SB 707, which would add water bottles to the redeemable deposit list that already includes carbonated sodas and beer bottles.
