Sacramento County Supervisor Roger Dickinson announced today that he plans to introduce an ordinance to the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors that would ban plastic bags and require paper bags to have recycled content. Fairfax, Los Angeles County and City, Malibu, Manhattan Beach, Oakland, Palo Alto, and San Francisco have already adopted similar ordinances. Two bills currently being considered in the legislature, AB 68 (Brownley) and AB 87 (Davis), also aim to decrease plastic bag litter.
