Sept 19 - Public Radio Reporter to Carry Her Trash for Two Weeks to Raise Awareness
Submitted by Recycling News on September 19, 2007 - 14:15.
Tess Vigeland, host of American Public Media's Marketplace Money, is carrying the trash she generates for two weeks in order to raise awareness of America's throw-away society. The average American generates 4.5 pounds of trash per day, a figure double that of thirty years ago.
Vigeland is challenging Americans to carry with them all their waste for two weeks. People who participate in the challenge may have their stories broadcast on Marketplace Money's special edition of "Consumed", a series on the consumer economy, to air November 17.
