AB 823 (Boerner) would have expanded California’s existing ban on intentionally added microbeads to include cosmetics, cleaning products and coatings.

SB 45 (Padilla & Blakespear) would have required plastic beverage bottles under 2 liters to use tethered caps—caps that remain attached to their bottles throughout their lifecycle—by 2027, eliminating a leading source of litter.
