Erica Parker, Policy Associate (she/her)

Erica’s journey into environmental advocacy began with a solid foundation in STEM. After earning her B.S. in Chemistry and her minor in Mathematics from CSU Sacramento, she gained hands-on experience as an analytical environmental chemist and quality assurance specialist. This early experience sparked her passion for environmental stewardship and fueled her desire to effect change through policy.

Erica recently graduated from UC Davis with an M.S. in Environmental Policy and Management and a specialization in Sustainable Food Systems and Agriculture. Her academic and professional focus aligns perfectly with her work as a Policy Associate at CAW, where she advocates for policies addressing environmental challenges related to organics recycling, food waste, landfills, and climate change.

Erica has a tabby cat named Marilyn and a variety of hobbies. Whether slacklining in Sacramento’s parks, reading science fiction at a local café, or baking vegan treats, she is always exploring new ways to enjoy and connect with her community.

Fun fact: Erica is the Saltine Challenge Champion of the office.
