Krystal Raynes, External Affairs Coordinator (she/her)

Krystal graduated from California State University, Bakersfield with a B.S. in Computer Science with a minor in Political Science. During college, she became involved in higher education issues in Associated Students, Inc. and served as the 2020 – 2022 Student Trustee on the CSU Board of Trustees. Her notable accomplishments include including caste into the CSU’s antidiscrimination policy and divesting the CSU from fossil fuels. From this experience, Krystal decided her calling in life was to help Californians tackle tough issues.

Prior to working at CAW, she was a Jesse M. Unruh Assembly Fellow placed in Assemblymember Jacqui Irwin’s office (AD42). There she worked on energy and environmental issues which kickstarted her journey and interest in environmental space.

As an External Affairs Coordinator with CAW, she works on local issues and communication needs for the organization.

After work, you can find Krystal dancing or hiking. She lives happily with “The Roosevelts”, her two orange cats named Teddy and Frankie.
