Dec 12 - Capitola Considers Banning Plastic Bags This Thursday

Sick of single-use plastic bag pollution? So is the City of Capitola.

Tomorrow evening, the Council will consider a single use bag ordinance. If adopted, the ordinance would ban plastic shopping bags in all retail stores, and place a charge on 40% post consumer content, recyclable paper bags. The paper bag charge would be determined by City Council and reviewed once after the first year, and then again on an as-needed basis.

Reusable bags are the safe, environmentally superior choice to single-use bags. Learn more about plastic bag pollution.
