Accolades for Departing CIWMB member Cheryl Peace

Boardmembers, staff and stakeholders paid tribute today to outgoing California Integrated Waste Management Board member Cheryl Peace. Cheryl came to the board four years ago as a self-described 'soccer mom,' but she quickly emerged as one of the board's most passionate and persistent advocates for waste prevention and recycling. Her willingness to take on anyone from waste haulers to the plastics industry when she perceived they were not doing enough earned her the support of the environmental community and the respect of her collegues.

Former Board Member Mike Paparian said of Cheryl: "She served with a thick skin, a soft heart and a dedication to solving problems."
