Nov 16 - Boulder, CO Adopts Single Use Bag Ordinance
The City of Boulder, CO is saying good-bye to single-use bag waste. Yesterday the Boulder City Council held a fourth and final reading of its single-use bag ordinance.
According to media reports, the Council adopted the ordinance requiring grocery stores to charge ten cents per plastic or paper bag. The ordinance will go into effect next July.
Boulder has a population of just under 100,000, and is located 25 miles northwest of Denver. The City ranks high in terms of quality of life, health, and well-being for its residents.
