Jun 2 - CA Carpet Recycling Bill Passes out of the Assembly

Share

The Speaker's Carpet Producer Responsibility Bill passed the Assembly Floor with a 41-25 vote. It will now head to the Senate side.

Carpet takes up significant landfill space. In 2008, California disposed of 1.28 million tons of carpet in the landfill. There is much value in reuse and recycling carpet, from direct reuse, refurbishment, recycling fiber into other plastic products, etc. AB 2398 will help create green jobs for carpet recyclers.
