Feb 3 - Feinstein to Introduce Federal Eco-Labeling Bill

US Senator for California Diane Feinstein is drafting legislation that could eventually lead to national standards for environmental claims on packaging. According to Environmental Building News, which obtained a copy of the draft, the bill would establish a board that would certify product certification centers, whose job it would be to establish criterion for labeling claims. Reportedly, Feinstein was inspired by the success USDA organic labeling standards.
