May 22 - Historic Bottle Bill Expansion will be Voted on in Senate Next Week

CAW-sponsored SB 1625 (Corbett) passed out of the Senate Appropriations committee today, and must be voted off the Senate Floor next week. The bill would expand California's model Container Recycling Law ("The Bottle Bill") to include all plastic bottles. Plastic is the fastest-growing component of the waste stream and the inclusion of plastic bottles into the Bottle Bill was the #1 recommendation of California's Ocean Protection Council.
