Mar 20 - Sonoma and Mendocino Counties Want to Enact Plastic Bag Ordinances
County and city officials in Sonoma and Mendocino are studying the feasibility of bag bans, writes Clark Mason of the Santa Rosa Press Democrat. In Sonoma County, the cities of Petaluma and Healdsburg have officially endorsed County plans to study proposals for a bag ban. A similar effort is taking place in neighboring Mendocino County.
San Francisco and Los Angeles Counties, as well as the City of Oakland, have all recently passed bag litter control measures. Several other municipalities are poised to do the same, including San Jose and Santa Monica.
