Dec 12 - Sears to Phase Out PVC
Retailer Sears announced today it would join the ranks of Target and Wal-Mart by phasing out the distribution of PVC plastic in its stores. PVC, used in packaging and other applications, contains several toxic additives, such as phthalates, lead, and cadmium. It also releases toxic dioxins when burned.
