May 21 - Oakland Bag Ban To Take Next Step
The Oakland Public Works Committee will consider tomorrow the City's proposed ban on plastic bags. The measure must pass the committee before it can be considered by the city council.
Oakland's ban, like San Francisco's, would require large retailers to use only compostable plastic or recyclable paper bags.
