Jun 27 - E-Waste Bill Passed Thru Sen EQ Committee

The CAW sponsored measure to expand the RoHS Directive in California passed through its next committee. AB 2202 (Saldana), which would require manufacturers of electronic devices to phase out the use of mercury, lead, cadmium and hexavalent chromium by 2010, passed the Senate Environmental Quality Committee yesterday on a vote 5-2.

AB 2202 will be heard next in the Senate Appropriations Committee.
