Aug 5 - Oahu, HI Plans for Solar Park On Top of Sealed Waste Site

In Hawaii on the island of Oahu, plans are underway to transform an old industrial waste site into a solar energy park. It's a new take on the term "waste to energy" that, unlike conversion technology, is resulting in renewable energy.

Over 4200 solar panels will be installed on a 12 acre area that has been sealed off and closed to disposal since the mid 1980s, according to a Waste and Recycling news article.
