Jan 4 - Marin County Bag Ban Ordinance Up for Vote Today

Today, the Marin County Board of Supervisors will vote on a proposed plastic bag ban ordinance at a public hearing on January 4, 2011 at 10:30 am. The meeting will be held in the Board of Supervisors Chambers, Room 330, of the Civic Center (3501 Civic Center Drive, San Rafael, CA 94903).

Marin County residents use an estimated 138 million bags a year. For many years now the County has been working toward a proposed single-use plastic bag ordinance. Recently, Marin County's efforts to push a plastic bag ban were put on hold while Californian legislators considered AB 1998, but with its defeat during the last legislative session the County has moved forward again.
