Jun 2 - Washington DC Council Passes Bag Fee

The council of Washington DC has passed a $0.05 fee on plastic and paper carryout bags at grocery stores, pharmacies and food service providers. The proposal, called the Anacostia River Cleanup and Protection Act, is designed to reduce dangerous plastic litter in the area's waterways.
