Feb 6 - Recycling Expert Makes Case for Maintaining State Waste Board

Evan Edgar, Regulatory Affairs Director for the California Refuse Recycling Council, has written an Op-Ed in support of maintaining the California Integrated Waste Management Board. As one of California's leading voices from the recycling industry, he makes a compelling case in favor of the Board, which has come under fire recently.

Mr. Edgar argues that "a full-time independent Board with the open stakeholder public process for all of their activity maintains a thoughtful public participation process for the general public, local government, environmentalists, and industry advocates." He goes on to provide a good overview of the Board's history and role in encouraging the expansion of recycling and protecting public health and safety. Read the Op-Ed here.
