Jan 16 - CA Fiscal Crisis Will Not Delay Bottle Bill & E-waste Payments

California State Controller John Chiang today issued a statement today outlining which state payments would be paid and which may potentially be delayed in February as a result of the state’s fiscal crisis.

All of the potential delayed payments are from expenditures drawn on the state’s General Fund. There are no plans to delay payments due from the state’s various Special Funds, such as the Bottle Bill and E-waste Recycling Law.

In a phone conversation with CAW today, a representative of the Controller’s office said that for the foreseeable future they can not see any reason to delay payments from solvent Special Funds.
