Dec 11 - LA County Considering Mandatory Benchmark-or-Ban Scheme for Plastic Bags

As Los Angeles County gears up to debate a mandatory bag disposal reduction program (see study and new "Alternative 5"), several Los Angeles municipalities, including the cities of Los Angeles and Long Beach, have declared December 20 the "Day Without a Bag". The campaign, organized by partner organization Heal the Bay, urges shoppers to go one day without using a disposable bag.
