Jun 8 - Seattle to Consider Bag Ban, Foamed PS Ban
Seattle is to consider banning plastic shopping bags as well as foamed polystyrene takeout containers as part of a new, aggressive zero-waste policy. Seattle City Council Member Richard Conlin told Seattle Times reporter Roxana Popescu that hypothetical ordinances would revolve around the idea of understanding "waste as a resource".
The new zero waste plan puts an emphasis on producer responsibility and aims to cut down on urban litter and increase waste diversion rates.
