Apr 20 - Man behind BanTheBulb.org brings bulb issues to light

Waste generation, the government, and the frugal consumer are all under fire as Dr. Matt Prescott, director of BanTheBulb.org defends his energy-efficient stance in his second installment in BBC News' thought-provoking environmental opinion series The Green Room.  Though his opinions may be controversial, the issues and facts brought up by Dr. Prescott in these two pieces are worth a second thought:

One of the reasons I proposed the eventual banning of incandescent light bulbs was that the phased ban of chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) worked extremely well when it was used to tackle the hole in the atmosphere's ozone layer.

Today, nobody misses CFC-based aerosol technology or even notices that other technologies have taken their place.
