May 13 - AB 888 Microbeads Ban Advances to Crucial Floor Vote

AB 888 (Bloom), California’s ban on plastic microbeads, passed the Assembly Appropriations Committee this morning and heads to the Assembly Floor on Monday. Thanks for your support!

Californians Against Waste is sponsoring AB 888 to remove these unnecessary plastic beads from our toothpaste and other personal care products. More than 471 billion microbeads are estimated to flow into the San Francisco Bay every day to pollute the environment and our food chain. Toxic sushi, anyone?

We're almost at the halfway point, but we still need your help to get there. If you haven't already, take a minute to write your Assembly Member today and urge them to support this bill when it is heard on the floor. If you've already done this, please tell your friends and family to do the same.
