May 29 - Container Recycling Expansion Passes Senate

CAW-sponsored SB 1625 (Corbett) passed out of the California Senate this afternoon and now heads to the Assembly. This first-in-the-nation law would put a refund value on all plastic bottles. Plastic is the fastest-growing component of the waste stream and suffers from very low recycling rates.
