The City of Mountain View will introduce a reusable bag ordinance this evening.
The council meeting begins at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers of City Hall (500 Castro Street, Mountain View, CA). See the agenda online--scroll down to Item 6.1 to see the ordinance documents.
If approved, the Council would have to revisit the item for final adoption. The ordinance would then go into effect on the next Earth Day (April 22, 2013) banning single-use plastic carryout bags in all retail stores and placing a small charge on paper and reusable bags.
Support the ordinance by attending the meeting, or take action here.
Plastic bag pollution is unnecessary, wasteful, and easily avoidable.
