Feb 22 - Increasing WA State Communities Discuss Bag Bans

Share

Washington State continues to see local movement towards banning plastic bags and stopping their detrimental impacts to our environment and economy.

According to KPLU.org, the communities of Bainbridge Island and Issaquah will discuss bag ordinances this week, on Wednesday and Thursday respectively.

Although several bills have been proposed on the plastic bag issue in Washington State's legislature, none made it out of legislative committees this year.

However, within the last year three local cities have adopted their own bag ordinances. Currently, Seattle, Bellingham, Mukilteo, and Edmonds have banned plastic bags. See the list of all bag ordinances in the country here.
