Jul 20 - California Tops Rest of Nation in Providing Green Jobs
According to a recent study by the Brookings Institution, California leads the nation in green jobs, providing nearly 320,000 jobs in the "clean economy" sector with almost a third of those jobs in the Los Angeles metropolitan area. "Clean economy" jobs, or jobs which provide goods and services with an environmental benefit, employ 2.7 million people nationwide.
CAW supports the creation of green jobs in today's economy and is the sponsor of AB 341 (Chesbro), which would add more green jobs to California's already high number by mandating an increased recycling rate throughout the state.
